This morning I had to wake up even earlier for school because I had to go to Super Singers. Super Singers is a group of 4th and 5th graders that wake up early in the morning to sing. Our music teacher is the one who made up the group. During the year we have Super Singer performances! So after Super Singers when school actually started I went on a field trip to old town Fredricksburg where we went to three places. First we went to the apothecary shop where they show some of the medicine they used 200 years ago like leaches and lavender. Next we went to the Sun Tavern (a tavern is like a hotel). I think the Sun Tavern was built by George Washington's brother. Last we went to the Mary Washington house (George Washington's mother). At Mary Washington's house we went in her bedroom, in the living room and in the garden. When we finally got back to school we ate lunch in the class room, I had a delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich (on whole wheat bread, with Kirkland organic peanut butter, and sugar free strawberry jelly), carrots, apples, non fat yogurt and 2 cookies. When it was time to go home, our bus took forever to get to school because our bus driver never showed up and they had to call in a substitute. When we got home I had to do math homework (ughhhh), then I wrote on my blog a little bit, and then ran on the treadmill. I watched a little bit of American Idol and I have to go to bed soon because it's almost 10:00 pm.

Aleks, I appreciated your blog on your field trip, and great photo. I've been reading a a daily devotional book of early American history that Mom gave me for Christmas. It's cool, I'm enjoying learning all the stuff I should have learned in grade school and high school. I always hated history, my worst subject. The dates, names and places all get jumbled in my mind. But now that I've actually been to some of these places, it seems more interesting. Granted, the names, dates and places still are jumbled... Just don't test me on any of this stuff!
That's funny Dad, history is actually my best subject and even I can still remember the date Jamestown was founded, 1607
and I've always been interested in all the things that have gone on in the past, and I nearly got 600 on my history SOL's
Nice blog Aleks ^^
And I'm not too good with History either >.< Like Dad, it's pretty much the dates that get me the most. I only just recently got down that the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. I still can't remember what year "Columbus sailed the ocean blue..." Just that it's something-92.... I think u.u
I feel kind of like Huck Finn in the book I'm reading:
"After supper she got out her book and learned me about Moses and the Bulrushers; and I was in a sweat to find out all about him; but by-and-by she let it out that Moses had been dead a considerable long time; so then I didn't care no more about him; because I don't take no stock in dead people."
=) Though of course I realize the importance of learning history, and I DO enjoy it somewhat, I just prefer English, Psychology, and Band.
